Rockstar currently lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as launch platforms. Its official story material places the game in Vice City and the broader state of Leonida, centered on Jason and Lucia. Rockstar describes GTA VI as a single-player experience.
Pre-orders, editions, and preload
Rockstar’s pre-order announcement says global pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026. The company currently lists two editions:
- Grand Theft Auto VI: Standard Edition
- Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition
Rockstar says pre-loading begins at local midnight on November 12, 2026. Its platform-and-editions support record also says the physical version contains a digital download code inside the box and does not include a disc.
The Extended Look
Rockstar published its official Extended Look on August 27, 2026. The company says it was captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5. Rockstar staged it first on Netflix, then published it later that day on its official YouTube channel and GTA VI site.
“In-game footage” establishes the company’s declared capture source. It does not, by itself, establish that every visible scene is player-controlled, unedited, final, or representative of every platform.
What the current facts do not establish
The official state does not establish a PC release date, crossplay, final install size, final performance modes, a complete map size, online-mode launch timing, or every mechanic visible in a curated presentation.
Those remain separate claim records. They move only when qualifying evidence changes their state.
